Harlem Renaissance which was the renaissance for African American culture, had a great boom in the 1920s. However, all of those traditions had started since the 14th century. During the Harlem Renaissance, there were many people who created lots of art works. The work that is introduced in this article, Knock me a kiss, which is a play about W. E. B. Du Bois, was one of the art works that is related to the Harlem Renaissance. This play was not created in the 1920s, but it showed how great was the Renaissance. There was a writer named Countee Cullen. This play is about him getting married with W. E. B. Du Bois.
Current writers often write poems, stories, or scripts about the past events. It is a great thing to do, because through those events, people can remember the events that happened before. Even though there are lots and lots of history-based art works, people don't seem to care. I wish there was a class that handled this kind of art works.

답글삭제The Harlem Renaissance impacted the African American and American society a lot. I hope Korean authors tried to write and remember the pain and history of our country. The Harlem Renaissance emphasizes the pain of being African American; it gives me the feeling of sorrow.
